Mommy's back! Where has she been? Well, that's a long story. Being the NOISY, chatty, sometimes obnoxious bird (as Mommy would say) that I am, I'm going to tell you. . . . |
About a month ago, Mommy started saying "Times are tough, girl. Times are tough.". She said it so many times that my parrot brain kicked in, and about two weeks after the first occurrence, I started ranting, "TIMESERTUFFFF GIRRRRRL", TIMESERTUFFFF!!!"
The last time Mommy picked up the phone toy, after performing my usual "Hello? Uh huh... OK... Bye!!! Bye!!!", I decided to listen in for some new material. Mommy was whining about all sorts of new words that had not yet been added to my incredibly extensive and impressive birdie vocabulary.
She kept saying WORK, WORK! Now that's a word that I know quite well, and frankly don't care for. Every morning, after picking up her keys, which triggers my "Goodbye GIRL" routine, Mommy says, "Mommy has to go to work. Goodbye GIRL!! I'll be back!" It seems that work was driving Mommy crazy. She'd been working incredible hours, she wasn't getting a raise this year because of something called a "recession", and she hadn't been able to do the thing she loves the most, UPDATE LUCY'S BLOG for many, many months.
Along came BirdsNow.com. A very nice man, and fellow birdie lover, named Johnny, emailed Mommy asking if she would like to exchange something called "link" toys. "Link" toys must be really cool, because Mommy got really excited. She started acting like I do, when it's time for my "peas and corn and green beans and lima beans and BANAAAAAAANA!!!!! WOOOOOOOO!"
My little birdie brain is still trying to grasp the concept, but anything that can make my Mommy start typing for me again, is alright with me. Thank you Johnny, and BirdsNow for motivating my silly Mommy. My incessant screaming wasn't working anymore ;)
